Pic. 2.24. Crankshaft sprocket: 1 – an asterisk of a drive of the oil pump; 2 – an asterisk of a drive of the gas distribution mechanism; 3 - the front of the engine; 4 - outer diameter; 5 - tooth width
The crankshaft sprocket is made of high strength chromium steel. The working surface of the teeth is hardened to increase resistance to abrasion at all points of contact with the chain. The crankshaft sprocket consists of a drive chain sprocket, a timing mechanism and an oil pump drive sprocket, which are combined into a single element. The keyway used to install the sprocket is missing (pic. 2.24).
