Control of the mechanism for changing the valve timing

Mazda 6 variable valve timing control (GG) essentially taken from the current MX-5 model (NB), except for the cleaning mode and the maximum delay mode to match the characteristics of the vehicle.

The cleaning mode conditions are as follows:

• decrease in engine speed when closing the throttle;
• engine speed - between 2250 min^-1 and 3500 min^-1;
• coolant temperature - above 80°C maximum delay;

In addition, any of the following conditions must be met:

• launch;
• engine speed - below 970 min^-1;
• coolant temperature - below 18°C;
• target valve opening or closing moment - 0;
• torque reduction.
