Checking the block of cylinders

Measure the degree of warping of the surface of the cylinder block in six directions, as shown in Figure 2.159.

If the deformation exceeds the maximum, replace the cylinder block.

• Maximum deformation of the cylinder block: 0.10 mm

Measure the diameters of the cylinders in the X and Y directions at a distance of 42 mm from the top surface (pic. 2.160).

If the cylinder diameter exceeds the wear limit, replace the cylinder block.

Standard diameter limit L8:

• 83.000–83.030 mm;

LF, L3, L3 (with a variable valve timing mechanism):

• 87.500–87.530 mm;

Minimum/maximum cylinder diameter L8:

• 82.940–83.090 mm;

LF, L3, L3 (with a variable valve timing mechanism):

• 87.440–87.590 mm.
