Remove the oil control valve.
Pic. 2.118. Primary check of the spool valve position of the oil control valve: 1 - spool valve
Check the position of the spool valve of the oil control valve. It must be in the position of the maximum delay in the moment of opening or closing the engine valves, as shown in Figure 2.118.
If the measurement is out of standard with an ohmmeter, replace the oil control valve.
Make sure the battery is fully charged. If not, charge the battery.
Apply battery voltage to the oil control valve leads and verify that the spool valve is operating and moving to the maximum advance opening or closing position of the engine valves. If the measurement is out of standard with an ohmmeter, replace the oil control valve.
Note. Options for supplying battery voltage to the outputs of the control oil valve:
- - Battery positive - to pin A, minus - to pin B
- - Battery positive - to pin B, minus - to pin A
Pic. 2.119. Secondary check of the spool valve position of the oil control valve: 1 - anticipation of opening and closing valves; 2 - delay in opening and closing valves; 3 - spool valve
Disconnect the battery and check that the spool valve has returned to the position of the maximum opening or closing delay of the engine valves. If not, replace the oil control valve (pic. 2.119).
