The rear wheel brakes are automatically adjusted according to the wear of the brake pads. Adjustment of the parking brake is therefore only necessary when the parking brake lever or cable is replaced, or when the parking brake does not work despite the normal pad thickness.
Release the parking brake, press the brake pedal hard several times, ensuring the correct position of the brake pads.
Unhook the parking brake boot and fold it up through the handle.
Loosen adjusting nut (2) parking brake cable.
Apply the parking brake six teeth (clicks) (1).
Lightly tighten the adjusting nut to 4 Nm.
Put the cover on the parking brake lever and secure it.
Raise and support the vehicle. Rotate the rear wheels by hand with the parking brake released. There should be no braking action. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment.
