Removal and installation of the switch of a signal of braking

The brake light switch is located on the pedal unit. When you press the brake pedal, the switch turns on the brake signal. In addition, the switch serves as a signal source for the ABS / EBV control unit, which controls the braking process. In this regard, the correct installation and adjustment of the circuit breaker is very important.

Removing

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Attention: This will erase the data from the electronic memory blocks. See instructions in chapter «electrical equipment».

Disconnect plug (1) from the brake light switch.



Turn the switch counterclockwise and remove it from the pedal unit.

Installation/Adjustment

Slide the switch into its mounting hole.

Pull the brake pedal up as far as possible by hand, push in the switch until the pushrod is fully retracted.

Turn the switch about 40°clockwise, so that it sits back 1 mm and locks into place.

Put the plug on the switch.

Check the operation of the brake signal.

Connect the negative cable to the battery.

Set the clock, enter the necessary codes.
