Rack and pinion steering should move easily and without play from lock to lock. It does not require maintenance, although sometimes it is necessary to check the condition of the protective covers.
Airbag (airbag) for the driver is located in the steering wheel. In the event of a severe frontal impact, a small charge in the airbag assembly is ignited by the control unit, the gases from the combustion of the charge inflate the airbag within a few milliseconds. This time is enough to soften the blow for the driver. The airbag then deflates within seconds as the gases are expelled through special outlets.

Depending on the equipment of the vehicle, it may be equipped with power steering to facilitate steering. Power steering consists of oil pump, fluid reservoir (oils) and oil injection lines. The oil pump is driven by the engine via a V-belt. The pump sucks oil from the reservoir and delivers it under high pressure to the steering gear. There, the adjustment unit provides the necessary action to increase the effectiveness of the steering mechanism.
Precautionary measures; always replace self-locking nuts. Welding and straightening work on steering parts is not allowed. Work on the airbag must be carried out in a workshop, as Is it dangerous.
