Lamps wear out over time. About once every two years, the lamps need to be replaced, even if they are in good condition. This does not apply to halogen lamps, which are used in headlights and fog lamps. They usually last much longer and are replaced when damaged. Lamps with reduced light output are also identified by black deposits on the glass bulb. Lamps should be replaced only with lamps of the same design and with the same characteristics.
Switch off the corresponding consumer before replacing the lamp.
Caution: Do not touch the lamp glass with bare fingers. Fat from the fingers evaporates and is deposited on the reflector, worsening its reflectivity. Fingerprints on the glass must be removed with a clean cloth soaked in alcohol.
