Precautionary measures
Do not use open flames, do not smoke, do not bring incandescent or very hot parts to the work area to avoid fire. Keep a fire extinguisher ready.
Ensure good ventilation of the workplace - fuel vapors are very toxic.
The fuel system is under pressure. When loosening the fuel system connections, fuel may splatter. It must be collected with a rag. Wear protective goggles when working.
Before loosening connections, thoroughly clean them and the surrounding area.
Put the removed parts in a clean place and cover them with foil or paper.
Carefully close or muffle open parts while repairs are being made.
Install only clean parts.
Remove spare parts from the packaging just before installation.
Do not use parts that have been stored in improper conditions or unpacked.
If parts of the fuel system are open, if possible, do not use compressed air and do not move the vehicle.
Do not use silicone sealants. Sealant residues sucked in by the engine will not burn in it and then damage the lambda probe (oxygen sensor).
Diesel fuel must not get on the hoses of the cooling system, as they may be damaged. If fuel does spill, wipe it off with a damp cloth.
