Switch off the ignition.
Remove the plugs from the spark plugs by pulling on the plug, not on the wire.
Squeeze the two latches of each plug of the high voltage wire and pull the wire from the ignition coil.
Measure the resistance of all four high voltage wires between the plugs at both ends of the wire. Resistance values should be between 5 kΩ and 30 kΩ.
If the resistance is too high, clean the wire connections and repeat the test and, if necessary, replace the wire.
Bend the high voltage wires in the area of the plugs and check for cracks. Replace wire if necessary.
Put the high voltage wire on the ignition coil, making sure that the fastening tabs snap into place.
Attention: The bushings of the high voltage wires on the ignition coil are marked with numbers from 1 to 4. The wires must be installed in the correct order: 1-3-4-2 (1.3L engine: 1-2-4-3). The first cylinder is located next to the engine V-ribbed belt.
