Removal of air from the fuel system of a diesel engine

When the fuel tank is completely emptied while driving, or when parts of the fuel system have been replaced, it usually does not need to be bled, as it is bled automatically when cranked by the starter.

When air is not automatically removed from the fuel system, then proceed as follows.

When working with the injection system, you must follow the rules for cleanliness.

Attention: Make sure that diesel fuel does not get on the coolant hoses. If this happens, clean the hoses immediately.

With the starter running, loosen all high pressure fuel line connections on the injectors one by one and tighten them to 20 Nm after diesel fuel comes out of the connection.



Wipe off spilled diesel fuel with a soft cloth.
