Front wheel speed sensors — check

1. Remove the wheel and check the speed sensor for damage. Replace sensor if necessary.

2. Check the clearance between the wheel speed sensor and the sensor rotor as shown. Adjust the clearance if necessary.

• Nominal clearance - 0.3 - 1.1 mm

3. Disconnect wheel speeds and measure resistance.

• Rated resistance - 1.2 - 1.6 kOhm

If the resistance is out of specification, replace the wheel speed sensor.

4. Check the voltage at the wheel speed sensor connector.

A) Jack up (place on stands) automobile.

b) Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector and connect an oscilloscope to it.

V) Check the wheel speed sensor waveform.



If the waveform is distorted or does not match the figure, check the wheel speed sensor rotor.
