2. Check the clearance between the wheel speed sensor and the sensor rotor.
A) Remove the rear wheel speed sensor.
b) Measure distances "A" And "IN", shown in the figure.
V) Calculate the clearance between the wheel speed sensor and the sensor rotor using the formula: clearance ="A" - "IN".
- Nominal clearance - 0.3 - 1.1 mm
3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector and measure the resistance.
- Rated resistance - 1.2 - 1.6 kOhm
If the resistance is out of specification, replace the wheel speed sensor.
4. Check the voltage at the wheel speed sensor connector.
A) Jack up (place on stands) automobile.
b) Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector.
V) Check the voltage at the terminals of each wheel speed sensor by rotating the wheel at a frequency of 1 rpm.
- Rated voltage - 0.12 - 1.2 V (AU)
If the voltage is out of specification, replace the wheel speed sensor.
5. Check the wheel speed sensor voltage waveform.
A) Jack up (place on safety stands) automobile.
b) Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector.
V) Using an oscilloscope, verify that there is no distortion or noise in the voltage waveform. During the test, rotate the corresponding wheel.
If the voltage waveform is distorted or does not match the figure, check the wheel speed sensor rotor.
