Note: carrying out repair operations without first removing the wheel speed sensor (ABS) may damage the sensor wiring. To prevent damage to the sensor or its wiring, remove the wheel speed sensor and secure it out of the way before making major repairs.
1. Remove parts according to the picture "Front wheel hub and steering knuckle".
Front wheel hub and steering knuckle.
1 - hub nut,
2 - brake caliper,
3 - brake disc,
4 - tie rod end,
5 - suspension stabilizer bolt,
6 - shock absorber mounting bolt,
7 - ball joint of the upper arm of the front suspension,
8 - ball joint of the lower arm of the front suspension,
9 - front wheel hub and steering knuckle assembly,
10 - stuffing box,
11 - hub,
12 - retaining ring,
13 - bearing,
14 - mudguard,
15 - steering knuckle,
16 - wheel stud.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Withdrawal Notes
1. Remove the hub nut.
A) Press the brake pedal to block the brake disc.
b) Using a toothpick and a hammer, loosen the rim of the hub nut.
V) Loosen the hub nut.
2. Remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way.
Note: Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Otherwise, upon completion of work, it will be necessary to perform the procedure for bleeding the brake system.
3. Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
A) Loosen the nut securing the tie rod end pin.
b) Using a puller, disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
4. Using a screwdriver, remove the gland as shown in the figure.
5. Remove the hub.
A) Using a press, remove the hub from the steering knuckle.
b) Using emery, grind down part of the bearing inner race to a thickness of approximately 0.5 mm.
V) Using a chisel, remove the bearing wear ring.
6. Using a press and a mandrel, press the bearing out of the steering knuckle.
7. Remove the mudguard.
Note: Only remove the dust shield when replacing it.
O) Put alignment marks on the mudguard and steering knuckle.
b) Using a chisel and hammer, remove the mudguard from the steering knuckle.
