Caution: Work on the air intake and exhaust systems when the engine is cold. After the engine warms up, the components of the systems become hot and can cause burns.
Exhaust system check
1. Check tube bracket rubbers for wear or misalignment.
2. Check the exhaust system for exhaust gas leaks, deformation, breakage, loose joints or blockage.
3. Check for loose bolts and nuts, tighten all bolts and nuts to specified torque.
4. Check all compatible parts of the exhaust system for breakages, deformations, displacements and other breakages that can cause exhaust gases to leak and enter the passenger compartment.
5. Make sure that there is sufficient clearance between the elements of the exhaust system, parts of other systems and the body to avoid overheating or damage to parts that are not designed for operation at high temperatures.
6. Check for other defects and malfunctions.
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Remove the finishing panel of the engine.
3. Remove the air filter housing.
4. Remove the EGR cooler.
5. Remove the parts in the sequence shown in the figure "Removal and installation of system of release OP.
6. Installation of parts during assembly is carried out in the reverse order of assembly.
7. Start the engine and check for exhaust gas leaks. Check the area around the turbocharger for engine oil and coolant leaks.
Note on removing the coolant supply pipes to the turbocharger
Before removing the pipes, drain the coolant (see chapter "Maintenance and general inspection and adjustment procedures").
Note on installing the engine oil supply hose
1. Fix the nut "A" with a wrench.
2. Tighten the nut "IN".
- Tightening torque - 15 - 21 Nm
3. Fix the hose in place "WITH" using pliers.
4. Tighten the nut "D".
- Tightening torque - 15 - 21 Nm
Exhaust Intermediate Pipe Installation Note
1. Lightly tighten the nuts "A".
2. Lightly tighten the bolts "IN" And "WITH".
3. Final tighten the nuts "A".
- Tightening torque - 37 - 52 Nm
4. Final tighten the bolts "IN" And "WITH".
Torque:
- bolt "IN" — 37 - 52 Nm
- bolt "WITH" — 17 - 15 Nm
