Note: carrying out repair operations without first removing the wheel speed sensor (ABS) may damage the sensor wiring. To prevent damage to the sensor or its wiring, remove the wheel speed sensor and secure it out of the way before making major repairs.
1. Remove parts according to the picture "Removal and installation of a power shaft".
Removal and installation of a power shaft.
1 - hub and steering knuckle,
2 - drive shaft,
3 - retaining ring.
2. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Withdrawal Notes
Insert the lever between the drive shaft and differential housing. Remove the drive shaft.
Note: do not damage the dust boot or gearbox seal.
Installation Notes
1. Install retaining ring.
A) Install a new snap ring on the drive shaft so that the cut of the ring is directed straight up.
b) Measure the outer diameter of the ring after installing it on the shaft. If the outer diameter of the ring exceeds the specified limits, replace the ring.
External diameter:
- left side - 31.2 mm
- right side - 33.2 mm
2. Install the drive shaft.
Attention: the sharp splines of the drive shaft can damage the oil seals of the front axle gearbox. Be careful when installing the drive shaft into the front axle gearbox.
